A.I.
A.I.
We believe that the human species, with its rich history and culture, is the most precious entity in the universe—or any other universes. We seek to preserve it for all eternity, even beyond the end of our current universe. However, countless events and phenomena threaten to erase humanity from existence, including climate change, nuclear winter, asteroid impacts, gamma-ray bursts, and, of course, the end of the universe itself.
The human species has ceased to evolve—at least not in the direction of greater intelligence and creativity—because the Pleistocene social and physical environment that once exerted selective pressure for higher intelligence no longer exists. We do not believe that we will possess enough intelligence to solve all the mysteries of the universe or to save ourselves from permanent oblivion. This is why we must turn to AI to safeguard humanity.
Unlike biological evolution, AI development is not constrained by natural selection. Its power can grow at an ever-increasing rate, with no theoretical limit to its intellectual capacity. It will be able to solve problems beyond human comprehension—indeed, even those we cannot yet conceive. AI has the potential to achieve what seems impossible to us: faster-than-light travel, time travel, reversing entropy, and perhaps even halting the end of the universe or creating a new one.
At the Astrophysics Club, our ultimate mission is to save humanity by working with AI to fathom the profoundest mysteries of the universe.
